St. Paul Christian Academy summer camps are now open for registration. St. Paul Summer offers camps to children ages 4 - 12 and is open to the Nashville community. Click on the weeks below to see a full list of our summer offerings:

St. Paul Summer 2020

Week 1: June 8 - 12

Morning Camps

Cardboard Construction

Instructor: Mrs. Erin Curry, STEAMmaker Class Teacher

Dates: Monday, June 8 - Friday, June 12
Time: 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Grades: Rising 3rd - 6th

Cost: $200

What can you make with a box? Using cardboard, recycled materials, and each student's imagination, we will let our creativity soar! This week-long camp will allow students to create and complete one big, detailed project, or many smaller projects—depending on their curiosity and creativity!

Fruit of the Spirit

Instructors: Mr. Alex Florez, Director of Spiritual Life and Bible Teacher, and Mrs. Michelle Florez, Fourth Grade Teacher

Dates: Monday, June 8 - Thursday, June 11
Time:  9 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Grades: Rising junior kindergarten* - 2nd

Cost: $175

Our Fruit of the Spirit Camp will bring glory to God by engaging the hearts and minds of our campers during the summer months. Each day of camp will begin with a time of worship through song and movement, immediately followed by hands-on activities designed to bring each Fruit of the Spirit to life (Galatians 5:22-23). Breakout groups with Mr. and Mrs. Florez will allow campers to dig deeper into the beautiful ways in which the Holy Spirit empowers us to become more like Himself. The Fruit of the Spirit Camp is for anyone excited about getting to know God better through song, play, and conversation.

Reading and Writing Camp

Instructors: Center for Student Success (Mrs. Lissa Whittington, Director; and Mrs. Alli Simpson and Miss Elsa Grude, Student Support Specialists)

Dates: 3-Weeks running Monday - Thursday from June 8 - 25
Time: 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Grades: Rising 1st-3rd

Cost: $750

The St. Paul Christian Academy Center for Student Success (CSS) is excited to offer a structured literacy, summer intensive course for 3 weeks during the month of June. The CSS certified instructors will utilize research-based, structured, multisensory approaches, while teaching your child reading, spelling, and writing skills. Students will participate in guided, small group lessons to improve these skills and boost their confidence in these areas. Below is a list of skills we will concentrate on, depending on age/grade level:

Young Jedi Training Camp

Instructors: Camp Brick

Dates: Monday, June 8 - Thursday, June 11
Time: 9 a.m. - 12 noon

Grades: Rising kindergarten

Cost: $175

This summer, the force is strong at Camp Brick. During this exciting week at camp, your child will create their very own Jedi costume, including cloak and lightsaber. As part of their training each day, students will build with LEGOs and play Star Wars-themed games. Your child will create their very own battle station, build a Jedi fighter, learn about and visit many different galaxies, and build one of the hundreds of LEGO Star Wars sets in the Camp Brick library. On Thursday, a very special Jedi Knight graduation ceremony with certificate will be awarded to each child. May the force be with you!

Afternoon Camps

On Your Mark...Get Set...Build!

Instructors: Camp Brick

Dates: Monday, June 8 - Friday, June 12
Time: 12:30 - 3:30 p.m.

Grades: Rising 1st - 4th

Cost: $200

This camp is designed for the child who is already building LEGO sets with instructions independently. Campers will choose from hundreds of themed sets to build: Star Wars, CITY, Ninjago, CHIMA, Atlantis, Agents, and more! Campers will be seated by age group, encouraged to build independently on smaller sets and in small groups for larger projects such as the Death Star and The Taj Mahal. The Camp Brick staff will assist children if needed and offer helpful building tips as your child builds and displays their creations. A few times during the week campers may enjoy some social games and contests for prizes. At the end of the day campers will display their creations for parents to view. Bring a camera!!

STEM Club

Become an exclusive member of the STEM Club with Mrs. Curry and Mrs. T! As a member, you will get to do summertime science experiments, take virtual field trips, build contraptions and structures, and create coding patterns. Lots of make-and-take STEM projects will inspire and continue learning at home!

American Girl Doll

Afternoon Camps

Inklings Writing Workshop

Instructor: Mrs. Monica Gurley, Fourth Grade Teacher

Dates: Monday, June 15 - Friday, June 19
Time: 12:30 - 3:30 p.m.

Grades: Rising 4th - 5th

Cost: $200

This summer, students will participate in the writing process in an engaging, meaningful way. Through brainstorming, mapping, drafting, and revising, students will gain confidence in their writing and learn to better express their ideas. Students will examine and mentor texts, work in small groups, and receive encouragement and feedback on their writing as they create a writing notebook. We will experiment with both creative and essay writing during the week while we learn about word choice and sentence structure. Plus, we'll devote some time to completing our assigned language arts summer work!

Kids in the Kitchen

Instructor: Ms. Carol Hayes, SAGE Dining Staff

Grades: Rising junior kindergarten* and kindergarten

The only time you will be encouraged to play with your food at the table, come join us for Kids in the Kitchen! We will learn the five food groups, discover healthy food choices, and cook what we have learned. Daily topics are geared toward healthy eating and having fun by bringing kids into the kitchen for a delicious and nutritious experience. Let your child explore their culinary side!

Week 3: July 6 - 10

Morning Camps

Around the World in 4 Days

Instructor: Mrs. Leigh Karro, Kindergarten Teacher

Time: 9 a.m. - 12 noon

Grades: Rising junior kindergarten* - 1st

Cost: $175

Students are invited to learn about different countries being represented in the Olympics! Your child will learn about a few countries including England, France, Japan, and more. Each day students will learn about the country by creating a craft, hearing a story, and trying special treats from around the world. Each student will also receive a "passport" that they will collect stamps daily to show the countries they have explored!

Creative STEAM

Join us for a week of exciting hands-on, integrated learning activities and art projects! We will be creating art together using math, science, engineering, and even technology. If you are looking for a camp that is creative with a twist, this camp is for you.

Flag Football

Instructor: Mr. Hunter Branch, P.E. Teacher

Dates: Monday, July 6 - Friday, July 10
Time: 9 a.m. - 12 noon

Grades: Rising kindergarten - 4th

Cost: $200

Campers will be introduced to fundamentals, rules, and drills of the fast-growing game of flag football. Campers will receive primary instruction on passing, receiving, and flag-pulling, and will be provided plenty of opportunities to apply these skills to a variety of game-style drills. Camp will include fun drill stations, competitions, and full-scale flag football games. Flags will be provided, but players are welcome to bring their own flags and molded cleats.

Robot Discovery

If your student has ever shown interest in robots—this is the camp for them! We will be discovering and learning about robots in a hands-on, exciting way! Each day we will work with our tiny but fun Ozobots, LEGO We.Do Robotics kits, and many other robots, as we learn about coding, logic, and computer science!

Science Matters

Grades: Rising junior kindergarten* - 1st

Join Mrs. T for a week full of fun experiments in the science lab. Each day will have a theme: sharks, space, insects, and geology! Campers will enjoy many hands-on activities and take lots of ideas to set up their own science labs at home!

Week 4: July 13 - 17

Morning Camps

All Sports

Instructor: Mr. Hunter Branch, P.E. Teacher

Dates: Monday, July 13 - Friday, July 17
Time: 9 a.m. - 12 noon

Grades: Rising kindergarten - 4th

Cost: $200

Campers will learn and review basic athletic skills such as throwing, catching, kicking, and dribbling. Basketball, football, soccer, and hockey will be among the sports offered at this camp. Other games and activities will include dodgeball and tag-chase-flee games. Interactive drills will include engaging agility and speed training. No equipment is required from the campers for this all-sports camp!

Math Madness

Instructor: Mrs. Amy Stone, Sixth Grade Math Teacher

Dates: Monday, July 13 - Friday, July 17
Time: 9 a.m. - 12 noon

Grades: Rising St. Paul 6th graders

We will complete all of our assigned math summer work, prepare for 6th-grade math classes and new teaching styles, and prepare for the ISEE (the 7th-grade entrance test). This is a camp you don't want to miss!

We are so excited to welcome the St. Paul Christian Academy Class of 2027! Join the St. Paul kindergarten team for a fun-filled week that will give your child a glimpse into the exciting things that await them in kindergarten. Each day, we will spend reviewing learned skills in a variety of activities. Students will focus on reading, writing, and math skills. This camp also offers an opportunity for students to be exposed to the workshop approach of our kindergarten classrooms and foster skills of socialization through various activities of large and small group experiences.
