This summer, let’s get up and get moving! Whether you want to be a great athlete or you just want to live a healthy life, staying fit is essential for people of all ages, genders, and experiences. While we won’t be training for the Olympics or the NFL Combine, we will learn about the basics of fitness techniques anyone can use to safely, intelligently use the body God gave you to have fun and get fit. We will explore interval training, stretching, body weight exercise, and resistance band exercises. Getting fit is about more than losing weight or growing vanity muscles; it’s about building toward long-term quality of life and, for young people, setting an early foundation for habits of healthy movement. And there’s more to exercise than jumping jacks and crunches, so let’s learn how to have fun getting fit!
