St. Paul Singers & 4th Grade Chorus

The St. Paul Christian Academy Singers:  This group includes students in fifth and sixth grades. Each student auditions before a panel of music educators before being accepted into this choir. Rehearsals are held twice weekly. St. Paul Singers perform two major programs each year along with singing in the Nashville community for various programs including Veterans Day, performing the National anthem for basketball and baseball games, and other scheduled events throughout the school year. This group sings a wide variety of repertoire including classic children's literature, Broadway tunes, spirituals, multi-cultural arrangements, and other material chosen for stretching these young musicians to develop their own sense of musicianship.

This group performed in Carnegie Hall in New York City in June 2010 as part of the world premiere of "Heartsongs," a work composed by Joseph Martin with the lyrics based on the poetry of Mattie Stepanek. Sponsored by Distinguished Concerts International of New York, this group spent three days in residence preparing for the Sunday evening concert.

Fourth Grade Chorus: All students entering fourth grade are invited to participate in Fourth Grade Chorus. Each student auditions before a panel of local music educators as part of the process of joining this choir. Rehearsals are held each week to prepare students to perform in the annual St. Paul Christmas program, a Veteran's Day program, and other performance opportunities throughout the community. This group sings a wide variety of repertoire including classic children's literature, Broadway tunes, spirituals, multi-cultural arrangements, and other material chosen for stretching these young musicians to develop their own self-esteem and their sense of musicianship.
