Academics at St. Paul
Our children and faculty are divided into two divisions at St. Paul: Lower School, junior kindergarten through 3rd grade, and Upper School, 4th through 6th grade. Each division has a coordinator. Jane Ann Myers, B.S. from Abilene Christian University and M.S. from the University of North Texas, is our Lower School Coordinator, and you can reach her at jamyers@stpaulchristian.org. Jim Callis, B.A. from Trevecca Nazarene University and M.Ed. from Vanderbilt University, is our Upper School Coordinator, and you can reach him at jcallis@stpaulchristian.org.
In both our lower school and upper school at St. Paul Christian Academy, we are pouring God's world and God's word into the hearts and minds of our students. As our mission states, we are committed to holding our students to academic excellence because we passionately believe that they will be and are leaders. Whether they will be called to lead large groups of people at once, or one person through their service, they will uniquely shape the world in which they live. We want to equip our students for every good work, so that when the time comes they are prepared to serve.
One of the measures of how well our faculty and students work together to ensure that our students reach their potential and perform at the highest levels is how they navigate the rigors of the admission process to 7th grade. Over the last 5 years our 6th graders have averaged 6 or higher on each of the ISEE, Independent School Entrance Exam, categories of verbal reasoning, reading comprehension, quantitative reasoning, and math achievement. In addition, our students have distinguished themselves as excellent writers on the ISEE essay. These strong performances and the strength of our students’ character combine to allow our students to attend the 7th-12th grade schools of their choice. Over the past 5 years our graduates have attended the following schools:
