Jason Powell became the 8th Head of School at St. Paul Christian Academy in July 2017.
Jason began his path to education at Florida State University where he graduated with a B.S. in Mathematics Education. He continued his education at FSU and completed a Masters in Educational Administration/Leadership. In 2003, Jason received a doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Central Florida.
Jason has more than 20 years of professional educational leadership experience. He started his career as a math teacher and experienced many leadership roles including principal, assistant principal, dean of students and coach. He served as the Head of The Christ School in Orlando, FL for over 11 years before coming to St. Paul Christian Academy.
Jason is committed to protecting the mission of St. Paul Christian Academy. In his words, “We have a duty and privilege to lead children and point them to truth through the rigorous pursuit of academics and the formation of a Biblical worldview — a lens to interpret meaning and purpose for all parts of life. This foundation prepares children to perform with distinction as scholars and leaders when they move on to their secondary school years, and to flourish for the rest of their lives.”
Jason and his wife, Amy, are the parents of three girls, Caroline, Elizabeth and Mary Virginia. When he is not rooting for the Florida State Seminoles, you might find him running, spending time with his family, hunting or reading on his porch while enjoying the view of the woods.
