Welcome to the Lower School (first through third grades)! Our faculty and staff seek to provide an encouraging and supportive learning environment while teaching Biblical values of respect, responsibility, honesty, and courage.
We believe the elementary years to be formative years for the growth of children academically, socially, and spiritually. Our overall goal is to develop a foundation that helps mold a lasting idea about themselves and their place in the world.
We seek to have active and creative learners under our developmentally appropriate curriculum, creating habits and values that are relevant and long lasting. Our basic drive in curriculum and instruction for the lower school is to open the world of learning and to inspire our students toward a greater understanding of their surrounding environment. The core curriculum includes reading, writing, language arts, mathematics, Bible, science, social studies, technology, music, art, and physical education.
In kindergarten, first and second grade, our students begin developing into competent readers, writers, and speakers. We also develop competencies in math and critical thinking/problem solving strategies. In Third Grade our students begin refining their skills as they transition from learning to read to reading to learn. Academic rigor progresses as students are being prepared for the challenges of the upper school.
If you would like to know more about our school family, please do not hesitate to contact us. We would welcome you to our campus to share the great things that are going on every day at our school.
Blessings,
Bobby Huff
