Academic Excellence is pursued in a developmentally appropriate teaching and learning environment where children learn to work hard, yet still enjoy the delights of childhood. Our commitment to academic excellence is demonstrated by implementing curriculum that will most benefit our students spiritually, intellectually, socially, and physically to best prepare them for the 21st Century.
We hold high expectations for our students and provide a loving, nurturing, and challenging environment to help them meet those expectations and reach their highest potential. As a result, our children are well prepared for acceptance to and success in the most competitive college-preparatory schools in Nashville. Each year our graduates thrive at Brentwood Academy, Harpeth Hall, and Montgomery Bell Academy.
Since our founding almost 40 years ago as a distinctively Christian independent school in the heart of Green Hills, we have kept our Christian identity central to our mission. We believe that the children whom we are blessed to teach are image bearers of God Himself. Our desire is for all of our students come to know and love God, to understand His Word, and to develop the wisdom, courage, and strength to walk in His ways.
We seek to be an authentic Christian community, characterized by a passion for Christ. This passion is reflected in the curriculum and culture of our school through daily devotions, weekly chapel services led by students, Bible classes, and a variety of mercy ministries to the community.
We believe that God is calling all of our students to become Christian leaders in their homes, at their schools, in their future careers, and throughout their lives. It is our desire and practice to equip our graduates to understand Christian leadership and give them opportunities to practice leading.
Leadership development is visible in our school culture through students leading chapel programs, keeping our campus clean, conducting service projects, and mentoring younger students in our buddy program. Additionally, in their capstone year, our sixth graders have special leadership duties. They begin their year with a leadership retreat, where they are challenged to lead the school in God-honoring ways. Following this challenge, they have daily opportunities to serve our school as they prepare to be leaders in their next schools and beyond.
