Here you'll find the menu, allergen filter, and more information from SAGE.
SAGE provides our school community with delicious, dietitian-approved meals, cooked from scratch using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Their talented chefs enhance mealtime with a wide array of options and flavors, including Asian-inspired dishes, Latin American cuisine, and vegetarian and vegan fare. A monthly Educational Seasonings program explores food in cultural and historical contexts, and chefs often engage communities with exciting display cooking.
All SAGE Team Members have extensive training in food service protocols and food allergy awareness. Their open kitchen policy allows parents to schedule a time to visit and ask questions about inventories and preparation methods. SAGE's comprehensive online allergen filter is an important tool that allows students and parents to filter all menus for allergens and choose safe meals.
Frequently Asked Questions
What if my child has food allergies?
Sage has a comprehensive approach to ensuring safety for students with allergies. All menus are posted online in advance so parents can use Sage’s online allergen filter as a first step to planning a safe lunch. Our head chef works closely with parents, teachers, and the school nurse to ensure the safety of all of our students. Nationwide Sage is a peanut-free company with a proven commitment to allergen safety. Sage also has an open-kitchen policy so parents can visit and learn more about their specific methods for keeping children safe.
Can they get as much dessert as they want? How do we monitor what they eat?
Sage staff members and teachers are keeping an eye on students as they choose their lunches. In addition, Sage does not provide dessert every day, and sometimes dessert will be fruit-based. We anticipate the changes in lunch will be exciting to students and they will be eager to share about what they’ve eaten. All of the offerings will be listed online for parents to see as well.
Can my child bring lunch?
Yes, your child is welcome to bring their lunch (or a partial lunch) though Sage offers basic items each day in addition to the daily specials that may be similar to what many families might pack for lunch.
Can parents buy lunch?
Yes! We want parents to be able to enjoy the new dining service along with their children.
How do guests pay?
When guests check in as a visitor to campus in McGuffey Hall, they have the opportunity to pay $5 (cash or check) to purchase a lunch pass.
