At the Tennessee Association of Independent Schools Biennial Conference in Chattanooga, Head of School Ken Cheeseman was recognized with a Distinguished Service Award.
Mr. Cheeseman has served on the board of TAIS for 8.5 years and as the President since 2012. His commitment to building collegiality within the independent school community in the state of Tennessee has benefitted many in the Nashville area and around the state.
The Tennessee Association of Independent Schools was established in 1973 to be the active voice and connective resource for its member schools. It provides a wide variety of services to its members, overseeing and responding to state educational laws and policies, representing the interests of independent schools to the state athletic association, and providing professional development for teachers and administrators. TAIS is the state affiliate of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) and the Southern Association of Independent Schools (SAIS).
